Fleet Feet Sports in Davis offers a wide variety of training programs to help you achieve your desired level of fitness. For updates and information about all of these groups, please sign up for our newsletter.

No Boundaries: Fleet Feet Davis is offering "No Boundaries", a 10-week training program for beginners hoping to run or walk their first 5K race. The purpose of the program is to introduce participants to the lifetime fitness activities of running and walking and to encourage them to live healthier lifestyles. No Boundaries will offer participants guidance and advice from experienced coaches, weekly group training runs or walks, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury, all within a fun and supportive environment. The program will culminate with a goal race in Sacramento on June 21, 2008. New Balance is sponsoring the program along with Fleet Feet Davis, and will provide each participant with a moisture-wicking shirt and hat. A $75 registration fee will cover all aspects of the program. Workouts will be Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Participant Profile: Beginning runners who want to learn about running, injury prevention, nutrition, gear, etc. 

Club Fit Davis: This group meets Saturday mornings year round at Fleet Feet Davis at 8:30am for casual, non-coached  run/walks. The distances of the workouts currently range from 3-5 miles, and go around the UCD campus or towards the North Davis Greenbelt. This is a recreational, non-competative, fitness-oriented group, co-ed group for the beginning runner or walker. Families are welcome. 
Participant Profile: Fitness oriented, recreational runner or walker who wants to workout with a group and is not interested in speed or racing. Average pace: 12:00 to 15:00 minutes/mile.

FF Davis Half Marathon Training Group: This is an 8-week coached co-ed program, that meets at Fleet Feet Davis Thursday evenings for speed work and Saturday mornings for a long run in order to train for specific half-marathons. The group is geared toward first time half marathoners, those looking to improve their previous half marathon time, or people who want to train with a group for a half marathon. There is no speed requirement, and participants run anywhere from 6:00 to 15:00 minute miles. The Training Group runs August through October and December through February. The cost of the program is $75 and includes the 8 week training schedule, two coached workouts per week, energy replacement at workouts, a technical shirt, $10 off a pair of shoes at Fleet Feet Davis, and $5 off a sports bra (for the ladies). Advance registration is required.
Participant Profile: Experienced runners who have been running regularly for at least 6 months and can run 3-4 miles comfortably.  Average Pace: 7:30-14:00 minutes/mile.

Running for Women: A run/walk program for women only that starts at different times throughout the year. This is a coached group that meets twice a week for women who want to being running. Four groups are offered: beginning, intermediate, stay fit, and step it up. The beginning group is appropriate for women who have never run before, while the intermediate, stay fit, and step it up groups are for women who have completed the beginning program. Golden Valley Harriers (GVH): A RRCA member running club that meets at Fleet Feet Davis three times a week for group workouts (Tuesday at 5:45pm, Thursday at 6:00pm, and Saturday at 8:00am). Tuesday night is a speed workout of varying distance recommended for runners who can run faster than an 8:00 minute per mile pace, Thursday night is an easier run of 5-7 miles, and Saturday is a long run of 5, 7, or 10 miles. Members of the group train for various races throughout the year ranging in distance from 5K to 100 miles. The group also meets for social activities as well. There is an annual fee for this group. Participant Profile: Front half of the pack runners to local elites who train to race competitively and often. Average Training Pace: 6:00 to 8:00 minutes/mile.
